Potato soup with sausages

An irresistibly delicious Hungarian soup, be careaful making just as much as you are not afraid eating.

Soup ingredients

serves 4
  • 530g potato (diced)
  • 150g smoked sausages (thickly sliced)
  • 0.5pc (45g) onion (diced)
  • 2 medium (130g) carrots (cut in rounds)
  • 1tbsp (20g) flour
  • 50g rice
  • 100g sour cream
  • 1tbsp sweet redpepper
  • 1tbsp (14g) oil
  • salt, pepper, bay leaf


Step 1

On a medium heat, in a larger pot put on the oil, onion, carrots and sausages.

Step 2

Once the onions become translucent, take off the pot from the fire, and wait until the oil is not boiling any more.

Step 3

Add the salt, pepper, bay leaf and sweet red pepper, mix it well.

Step 4

Then add the potatoes, mix well again.

Step 5

Add enough water to cover the potatoes (and a bit more).

Step 6

Put back the pot on the fire, and cook it until the potatoes become soft.

Step 7

Add the rice, make the roux using the sour cream and flour, and add it as well.

Step 8

Cook at most 10 more minutes, until the rice is ready.
